For quite some time, I've been shifting to new art themes and techniques in my work.

From my perspective, there was a considerable evolution in terms of artistic vision and even worldy outlook over the past few years that I had. What I did in the past, I've no interest in during the present day, and I think it's cool. Change of path to avoid a stagnation for a hobbyist.

Torture-device was all about warhammer, gore, and politically spurring journals. I'm no longer interested in warhammer, I dunno what to say new in gore, and in my 28 years I've realized the intrinsic futility of announcing your political opinions on the internet. You might say I'm too old too realize that, but I'm as much as a product of the Internet age as most of us here, and good that I realized it not a decade later, like many still do - I feel lucky)

TD-Vice, in return, just wants to do his own concept art, visually cool stuff, his own stories and with time, move to more lucrative grounds for exposure. It's all about bright neon colors, cyberpunk, narrative studies and a dash of newretrowave in the mix. Deviantart is still a good platform for massive exposure, and not gonna lie, it's what's keeping me here for the most part. But hey - all things change, and that's a great thing.

Thanks to everyone who keeps with the journey)

Its a shame that you wont be posting political stuff anymore. I always liked the straightforward mindset, a more hard view on things that always manages to catch my interest. I really like the 'quit whining for once and get out of bed you hippy' kind of thing, which I like to describe as a typically Dutch thing (or what we used to be, at least- little is LEFT of it if you get what I mean). Ive got the prejudice that more harsh views are not exactly uncommon in Russia, which is why the country has my admiration for as far as I can give it.
Hardly going to whine too much about it though. I stick around for the art, too.

The name didn't bother me, the politics were getting somewhat tiring, though. No offense intended. Anyway, glad you're still doing this.

We all change.
Wether it will be for better or worse can only be answered in the future,
but lest we wanna end up stuck, useless and dry of motivation, we must change.

I would never give up 40K because it entertains me too much and I really enjoy that world but your new art style is great, I really love the neon colours and the cyberpunk feel, and whatever you need to do to fully realise your ambitions is something you should through yourself into with all your energy, you don't want to find yourself ten years from now wishing you'd done more sooner.

Seeing your latest artwork I don't think you'll have too much to worry about but good luck and all the best.

Is it true that DA might be blocked in Russia soon? Some other russian artist here mentioned it.

Actually it was briefly blocked a couple of days ago. It's not because DA itself is blocked, it's because Russian ISPs are blocking internet pages with child pornography (and there's a lot of it on dA). Some ISPs, however, sometimes accidentally block not the concerete page, but the root domain of the whole service. DA was inaccessible to me on Tuesday on both my ISPs, but yesterday they already fixed it, opening up the domain.

People are dumb and alarmist.

A lot on deviant art? And to think I defended this site to multiple people about how it was just a site for freelance artist. Seriously though are the police taking down the names of everyone with an account?

Wherever your journey of the self goes, I'm eager to see how you improve. Honestly, you interested me for the fact of your political opinions, though I eventually delved into your artwork and was intrigued. Change is always good, and you embrace it well, sir!

Shouting out political opinions indeed changes nothing

are even less worth a statement.

It's probably one of my biggest problems with fiction in general is that being unsubscribed to modern convention (at least not entirely) is that is can become a ploy. Something that I love about 40K is the mystery, which is probably it's greatest strength and weakness. There is plenty there for establishing a compelling narrative and populating it with interesting characters, but there is little else. I can hardly call it science-fiction, because there is no science to speak of. Actual scientific knowledge can only be applied by the storyteller, and is thus, completely subject to the extent of their own experience and because there are so many writers telling so many stories at once, the consistency suffers.

I enjoy the visual aesthetic, despite its impracticality, the history (to some extent), but I never allow the story to dominate my perception. I use the story as merely an engine to create my own interpretations. Allowing your readers (i.e. viewers, if art) to participate in the story is one of the greatest gifts an artist of any kind can give. I've always seen art as a tailor-made experience, and I see all of those elements in your work, TD. Your elaborate journal entries clearly demonstrate issues that you care about and show us how they might factor into your work. You don't have to share them, but you do, and I enjoy reading them. The futility you speak of shouldn't be limited to what people think based on misconception or upbringing or whatever other factors lead them to undervalue the gravity of issues you think heavily of. However, someone shouldn't feel compelled to say or do something that they feel is just a waste of time.

I look forward to seeing what spin you will have on cyberpunk, which I feel is a more mature alternative to 40K, not to mention more compelling. Sure some fans might go, but others will come, and change is something that, I'm sorry to say, so many people seem unwilling to accept. Good luck, and have at it!

I thought about the complaints forum the other day, about how satisfying it used to be to stir up drama. Now I just feel legitimate pity for that aspect of the internet. I think a lot of us just got bored with it, realized how petty it was.

Also my boyfriend just recently got into 40k, He put the entire Horus Heresy on his kindle before he left to work in Egypt. Approximately how long before he grows out of this?

I'm glad to see such a change, I would get alittle worried about your well being from time to time when it all seemed so hateful and politicaly focused, like you just wanted to argue with people.

I personaly stopped reading anything you said all thougther

Not beacuse I dident agree with your veiws or have anything agienst you. (I really respected how powerfull you could be in your words)

But after a while I just dident care XD Journal after Journal, Breivik here and National Socialism there.

With Deepest respect, It's nice to see you found something new and personal to expand and express yourself with.

Evolution is good, evolution is what mankind needs. And realisation that ranting about politics on the internet (or wherever) is a good step. I recently realised that without bloodshed nothing will change and weak will rule. But to start bloodshed you need to sacrifice yourself for the weak. So best way to stay sane is just dont give a flying fuck.

Good luck on your journey.
